Restoration and Audio Clean-up
We can transfer vinyl, CD, DAT, and cassette tapes. With transfers, the condition of the original media is of paramount importance. If your originals are in bad shape, there’s likely not much we can do. However, tape stored in a reasonable environment, and CDs and vinyl in good condition should’t pose much problem. Every recording is like opening a time capsule, and it is truly a magical experience to see old recordings come to life. Hearing a live concert that hasn’t been played in 50 or 60 years can seem like time travel, bringing to life long passed musical memories. What’s Included with each transfer?
Re-record your media to digital - All transfers performed at a high-resolution standard
Reduction of tape noise, or vinyl pops and crackle
Correct any left/right channel balance problems that exist in the original recording
Check phase alignment of stereo recordings
Deal with any original clipping of the audio signal, if possible
Widening of mono recordings or even creating a new “stereo” version of your mono recording for a more modern sound, if desired
Addition of fade-ins/fade-outs to each track
Corrective EQ for a more musical tonal balance if needed
Delivery via digital download - MP3 and high resolution files (WAV and/or FLAC codecs)
Assembly into a DDP file for CD production is available for an added charge
